Les Paul, 94, Grammy Award-winning guitar virtuoso and inventor of the solid-body electric guitar, died today at a hospital in White Plains, N.Y. of pneumonia. Les Paul designed some of the greatest guitars ever made and invented multi-track recording. His name-sake guitar, the Les Paul, is one of the most easily identifiable guitars even today... played by the likes of Jimmy Page, Slash, Jeff Beck, Steve Jones and Warren Haynes. Rest in Peace Les.
