Steamworx for Alchemy!

New for Camel Audio's Alchemy and Alchemy Player is Steamworx a library by Martin Walker. Here's the info from Camel Audio:

Steamworx is a cinematic netherworld featuring keyboard instruments made from clocks, drum kits built with steam-powered machines, fog-shrouded soundscapes and gothic choirs. With intricate contraptions, grunge-laden grooves, multi-layered arpeggios and hand-crafted percussion that ooze character and round-robin realism, you will find moods suited to epic soundtrack, delicate ambient, sci-fi, industrial and the supernatural.

This library incorporates over 240MB of new sample content, with specially created instruments, extensive field recordings that add a rich patina of detail, 8-bit SID Chip exotica, plus samplings from an extensive collection of bells, chimes, and gongs. Martin Walker is well known for his music and sound effects design on over a hundred game soundtracks, and for his columns and features on sound design in magazines such as Sound On Sound and Audio Technology.

Go to CamelAudio.com for mp3 demos and ordering information! And if you're interested in sound design make sure to check out the Steamworx pdf which chronicles the making of this library in nine decorative pages. And speaking of Alchemy, version 1.20 is now available. This new update implements 64 bit and features switchable skins - Nice work Camel Audio!

Early work on a granular/additive patch in Camel Audio Alchemy

At Electro-Music, there was an old florescent light in my room.
It made the coolest sound when you turned it on.

I of course recorded it with my handy Zoom H2 and now I'm
working on some patches using this sample as source audio.
A quick video of early work on a patch in Camel Audio Alchemy.

Update on Viral Outbreak Pricing

If you already are an owner of Nucleus SoundLab's Viral Outbreak for Reason or Wuzikstation you're eligible for a 50% discount on the new Viral Outbreak for Alchemy soundbank! (That brings the cost down to $29.50 from the original $59 for those of you eligible.) NSL CEO Jeremy Janzen will be sending out an e-mail to everyone who purchased Viral Outbreak thru www.nucleus-soundlab.com latter today. If you purchased VO thru the Props, forward your original receipt to support@camelaudio.com and they'll verify the purchase and hook you up. Why the discount? This soundbank uses the same samples from previous Viral Outbreak releases, however the patches are all new for Alchemy. So if you ever thought when using Viral Outbreak for Reason, this sounds cool but wouldn't it be great if this same sample was run thru a granular synthesizer - this is for you. Don't own Alchemy? Each purchase of Viral Outbreak comes with the Alchemy Player. The Alchemy Player still gives users hands on control of the patch - with 2 X-Y controllers, 8 knobs, ADSR controls and an 8 section remix pad to morph between sounds! Pick up Viral Outbreak for Alchemy at www.camelaudio.com.

Luftrum 4 - Ambient Pads for Alchemy:

Warm, deep, drone'ish and beautiful. From the amazing sound engine of Camel Audio's Alchemy comes a handful of free ambient presets designed by Luftrum. No external samples have been used, just the factory samples. Use the remix pads to morph between subtle changes. Enjoy!
