Spectral_Mixer_Demo.mov

Spectral Mixer is an audio processor. It allows you to independently adjust a signal's quiet, mid and loud parts. Sure, you could use it as a noise gate, but there is no reason to stop there. Want to hear a little more of the fretboard and a little less of the guitar? No problem. Want more 'play in the joints'? Try the attack and decay parameters. Just looking for a new way to re-balance a track's sound? This is your answer.

Puremagnetik Waveframe

Puremagnetik have a new live pack out and it's based on the Ensoniq Fizmo synthesizer. I remember when the Fizmo first came out I was completely transfixed by the keyboard at the local music shop. And now thanks to Puremagnetik you can have a virtual one inside of Ableton Live. Now I must admit I actually let my subscription to Puremagnetik lapse after being unimpressed with a couple of packs in a row, but Waveframe has redeemed them in my eyes and I'll be picking this one up for sure, for sure (so much for saving my pennies.)

Waveframe is an advanced wavetable synth based on Ensoniq's unique Fizmo instrument. Utilizing the same "Transwave" concept, Waveframe contains a collection of pre-programmed patches, over 30 waveform devices and over 1700 sample "frames". Waveform frames can be modulated via retriggering within a patch. This gives a natural sounding progression over time as each spectrum of a waveform evolves through its phases.
By employing features only available within the Ableton Live environment, Puremagnetik has reconstructed the Fizmo architecture from scratch. From over 30 unique waveform groups, a generous selection of presets have been programmed that employ many of the same features as the original Fizmo. And just like on the original, each voice group is highly individualized giving patches a complex, evolving and rich tone.

For Sound Designers & Programmers
Waveframe is a great tool for sound designers and synthesizer programmers. The huge library of simple waveforms can be used to construct complex soundscapes and instruments. Two and four-voice templates are included in the library as standalone Live Racks. Simply open the templates in a new track and drag your waveforms from the Waveframe Library into the voice chain. Then add effects and modulations to tailor your sound.
Waveframe Features:
• Over 1700 waveform samples
• Over 30 waveform rack devices
• A selection of preset pads, leads, basses & more
• Tightly integrated native Ableton effects & controls
• Easy hotswapping between waveform devices

Pick up Waveframe along with Microtron Tape 2 for the low subscriber's price of $5.75!

What's going on with PureMagnetik.com?

After yesterday's Michael Jackson post, I thought we'd create our own music software conspiracy theory. Now this idea came while I was perusing the internet and found this posted on the PureMagnetik site:

Do companies generally go off-line for a week? In my experience they usually create a mirror site to test problems. Unless of course something big is coming! A few months ago Kamoni posted an update on his site showing a picture of a delay plug-in he was designing for PureMagnetik. This update is mysteriously absent from his site now. Ta-dum! Now I could be wrong, but I believe PureMagnetik is about to launch a new monthly plug-in subscription service, much like their current service for Ableton Live packs. We'll know for sure on September 1st, when PureMagnetik comes back on-line.... just remember you read it here first!

UPDATE: September 1. Puremagnetik is back on-line, all that seems to have changed is they have a new pack 'Microtron 2' and they've taken down the lackluster 'Vox Box' pack from a month back. Still no mention of the delay plug-in Kamoni was working on.....
