On this day...


On this day in 1928, Italian composer, Ennio Morricone was born in Rome, Italy. Morricone has composed and arranged the scores of over 500 film and television productions and is considered to be one of the most influential film composers of all time. His work includes: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, The Mission, Once Upon a Time in America, The Untouchables, The Battle of Algiers and Mission to Mars. In 2007 Ennio Morricone was awarded an Honorary Academy Award "for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music."
