I love field recordings. My city is scattered with black boxes that have something to do with the electrical grid, each emits a hum of a slightly different frequency... I've been collecting the sounds every time I come across a new box. Needless to say I've had people ask why I'm sticking a microphone up to the utility box, to which I always answer, "Can't you hear that?"
