Useful Reason Tool from Off-White Noise

The blog Off-White Noise, has a really cool CV Monitoring Tool available free for download. This combinator device comes in handy when doing advanced CV patching in Reason. Thankfully the blog also goes into great depth about how the tool came about and how to use it. Link:

Art Pepper Birthday

Today would be Art Pepper's 84th birthday, if he hadn't of passed away back in 1982. Art's always been my favorite alto saxophonist with his lyrical intense playing. His autobiography, 'Straight Life', written with his wife Laurie, is one of the greatest accounts of the life of a jazz musician ever put to paper. As friend and fellow musician Marty Paich put it, "Art gave his all, all the time. I never heard him lay back... And that is an honest musician."

New Gruss Pack!

Gruss Pack Volume 4 was released early this morning. Somehow Ryan found time to whip up a whole new set of loops for us subscribers while in the process of moving to the suburbs and setting up his new home studio. What a guy, what a guy. Volume 4 features Waltz, Totally 80's, Granola, Train, Extreme Fusion, and Aux Toys loops. So far I'm really digging the Train set (which sounds like the rhythms to early Johnny Cash singles) and the Granola beats (which are supposed to be jam style/hippie loops, but could easily pass for indie rock drums.) They just keep getting better!
